Bhutan Tourist Visa Requirements

Most international visitors require a Bhutan tourist visa before traveling to Bhutan. Citizens of India, Bangladesh, and the Maldives are exempt from this visa requirement.

As part of the visa application process, travelers are required to pay the mandatory Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD 100 per person, per night, along with a one-time, non-refundable visa application fee of USD 40. These fees are separate from the cost of your Bhutan tour package.

Children aged 6 to 11 years receive a 50% discount on the SDF (USD 50 per night), while children 5 years and younger are exempt from the SDF.

• A clear, color copy of your passport (valid for at least six months from your arrival date)

• A recent digital passport-size photograph

Once your visa is approved, we'll email you a copy of your Bhutan e-visa approval letter before your departure. Please print and carry this document when traveling to Bhutan. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, immigration officials will verify your visa and complete the entry process.

Flights to Bhutan

Traveling to Bhutan is easy with the country's two international airlines, Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines and Bhutan Airlines. These airlines operate regular flights between Paro International Airport and major regional destinations, including Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi, Kolkata, Bagdogra, Guwahati (India), Kathmandu (Nepal), Dhaka (Bangladesh), and Singapore.

Daily flights are available on popular routes such as Bangkok–Paro and Delhi–Paro, making Bhutan easily accessible for international travelers. Since flight availability can be limited, we recommend booking early to secure your preferred travel dates.

Please note that a Bhutan tourist visa (e-visa) must be approved before you can board a flight to Bhutan.
