Built by the revered Bearded Lama, legend says a local deity aided its construction at night. Begin your day in Punakha with a scenic 30-minute hike from Yepaisa Village to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a 100-foot stupa built by the Queen Mother to promote global peace. In the afternoon, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility, built by the legendary Divine Madman in the 16th century. This revered site attracts couples seeking blessings to conceive and is known for its unique fertility rituals. Both hikes offer spiritual and cultural immersion. After breakfast, journey back to Paro, enjoying the scenic drive once more. Begin your day with a visit to Ta Dzong, a conch-shaped watchtower that houses Bhutan’s National Museum. Explore fascinating exhibits of ancient cookware, traditional weapons, rare artifacts, coins, textiles, and Bhutanese flora and fauna. Nearby, watch or try your hand at archery—Bhutan’s national sport—on the museum’s archery grounds. Later, take a short drive to the historic ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1644 to mark Bhutan’s victory over Tibetan forces. End the day with a relaxing stroll through Paro’s charming town center and local markets.

After an early breakfast, get ready for the highlight of your travel to Bhutan – the Taktsang hike - better known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. On the trail, you will climb through beautiful pine forests before stopping for a rest and light refreshments. The three-hour hike ends when you reach the spectacular Taktsang monastery, built in 1684 A.D. Afterwards, visit Dungtse Lhakhang, a chorten with one of the most extraordinary collections of paintings in Bhutan, followed by an overnight stay at a hotel.
