All international tourists (except Indian nationals) require a Bhutan tourism visa before arrival. The visa is processed through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator and is approved by the Department of Immigration. Visitors must travel on a pre-arranged package that includes accommodation, transport, a licensed guide, and meals. The government also requires a Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) of USD 100 per person per night, along with a one-time visa application fee of USD 40 per person. Once approved, a visa clearance letter is issued, and the actual visa is stamped on arrival at Paro International Airport.

    Flights to Bhutan

Bhutan is served by two national airlines: Drukair – Royal Bhutan Airlines and Bhutan Airlines. Within Bhutan, domestic flights are available from Paro to Bumthang (Central Bhutan), Yongphula (Eastern Bhutan), and Gelephu (Southern Bhutan), subject to weather and schedule.
